Brushed aluminum lids aren’t that common on netbooks. You can find them on a few older HP business-oriented netbooks such as the Mini 2133 and 2140 and… yeah, they’re the only ones that comes to mind. But the folks Chinese PC maker Sheng seem to like the look, because they covered the Sheng T108 netbook with a brushed aluminum case.
In addition to the lid, the computer seems to have a brushed aluminum palm rest. On the insides, you’ll find standard netbook fare including a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N280 processor. You do get a little more storage and memory than is typical in a 10 inch netbook. The T108 has 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It also has 802.11b/g WiFi, a SIM card slot, VGA port, and flash card reader.
The laptop will sell for about $300, but I don’t expect to see it outside of China anytime soon. The other down side? It comes with a 3 cell, 3000mAh battery. I wouldn’t expect to get more than 3 or 4 hours of battery life.
